You should have no problems proving that you worked at Emerald even though they cannot provide a reference. Simply contact your tax office as they will have a record that you were working at Emerald during the period concerned. They will send you a letter confirming the dates they held records that you were employed by the company and this should suffice to obtain an airside pass as long as everything else is in order.

The new venture is nearly a reality and should be up and running very shortly. If any of Emeralds ex pilots are stlii without a flying job or would like to fly the 748 again please give me a call.

I for one would like to wish the best of luck to the new venture. Obviously the Emerald ethos of only spending money when they had to, was at times frustrating, but on the whole I did enjoy the eight and a half years I spent there. I flew with some great guys and loved flying the budgie.
Like many others, I lost out on what should have been a reasonable redundancy payout, and a few months of being very stressed until I found another flying job. I am not bitter as it was business and not personal, I would like to wish all the 748 guys who get involved the very best of luck.

Yes, I'd be interested to know whether the airline will be based in the North West again, or whether the rumours about a Southend base are correct?
Maybe 'corgiboy' could send me a message with some details of Ts&Cs and the flightcrew experience required for DECs?
Kind regards

--- and yesterday I was talking with two elderly ex-Emerald captains (one is hoping to spend his last working year with the new venture) - not kippers, but a strong whiff of Old Spice -----
