TNT up for sale?

From Air Cargo World

TNT in Buyout Talks

A German investor said Thursday he is exploring a possible buyout of Dutch transport giant TNT, one of the world's top four air express companies, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The news agency said Cornelius Geber, a former executive of logistics company Kuehne & Nagel, said in an interview that he is in the very early stages of discussions with TNT, which operates the postal authority in the Netherlands as well as TNT Express and TNT Logistics.

TNT is publicly traded and has a market capitalization of about $12.5 billion. It has major express operations in Europe and Asia but ranks behind FedEx, UPS and DHL in the overall worldwide market.

FedEx and UPS have at various times been rumored to be interested in buying TNT.
