Technically speaking banned in the EU as of Jan 1st 2005, but with grandfather rights extending through Jan 1st 2007. I seriously doubt anyone will develop a Stage 4 hush-kit for what is a fairly small number of CF6-50 donks.

Might very well have a future in the 'usual places' where the old and noisy retire to.

Flip Flop Flyer

That's something new for me.
On which grounds they are banned? Stage IV is still far from implementation.

I have 2 years on the old B-4's. I lovd the plane. its a great mediem range frieghter. 90,000 lbs, lots of bulk fun to fly. in the US, its a great domestic box hauler. the airframes are limited to like 63,000 hours and then off to the beer can factory!

Stage IV hushkit proof of concept carried out last year in France. Airbus leased a TNT A300 for the trials.

The airplane can meet the Stage 4 requirements as was proven by Airbus last year.

There is also a Stage 4 kit offered by GE, but no takers so far as it is not required.

I stand (or rather sit) corrected! Just goes to prove that one should never trust stories told by pilots in a bar

I think that Airline Appointments are offering A300 work now. Darn site better than Captain USD5000, I can tell you!

Always go with the agencies! Don't believe a word their managers say and make sure you keep your back out of trouble.

Guess way their reliability is alway above 99.8%...

Stay away from Toshid!

This of course is only my opinion...if you go, have fun. Local pay is now 6k Euro plus overtime.

Cheers

Post website

www.toshid.org

Too bad it´s all in Turkish. It is basicly an association of all private airlines in Turkey. CEOs of all companies meet once in a while and talk about strategies, make gentleman agreements and work out similar airfares.

They also try and keep the level of flt.crew salaries to a standard and as my friend explained: Most of the GMs are pilots themselfs or mx guys who worked their way up to senior management.

There´s also an interesting list of all acft and you´ll be surprised to see how many A300s are still used.

Great airplane, loved every single hour on it but its days are certainly numbered.
