Royal Mail

Any more word on who's getting what? Will Sheds disappear? If so, how will it affect BAC, Streamline, etc?

All the Royal Mail work is going to Channex, Titan and Ben Air (see other thread), so unless they are going to subcharter work out, then I would imagine the shed is dead is far as Royal Mail work is concerned.

BAC still has work within Europe for the shed, but it is likely that this will change to ATR's some time next year.

I wonder if they will not be renewing the contracts of all the contract staff they hired for the Euro bases after they type rate their full time crews onto the ATR?

Shame about BAC as they have done the PO proud over the last few years; clearly loyalty does not count in this business. So much for all the awards they have given BAC for excellent service.

Recenty the PO have been fined for poor 'delivery'. It will not help their figures when a '73, full of first class, falls over.

Long live the shed.

The first routes to go have been announced and BAC Express are laying off most of their Shed crews over the next few months.

Eggpops, you don't work for the Post Office by any chance then?

And would the big rumour be that they are all coming out on strike indefinately?

Hopefully the PO will realise that it still needs the flexibility that only the Sheds can offer and continue using them.
