Haha on the contrary, it was a a sarcastic example in response the the flex about how how KA wasn’t mandated to wear headsets in China yet CX was. Who cares.
CX Airbus pilots have always been more sophisticated and operated to higher standards than these lazy 777 guys making 115 hours every second month on CoS99/08 |
On the 777 we sometimes can't hear ATC in China over the sound of how cool we are.

Manky A320s aside, only found out recently the pay at KA during the final years, holy crap, skippers at KA on way better than twice what I was on LHS Boeing on COS 99. Hats off to the highest paid pilots on planet Earth. What a contract they had, made even A scale look like a poverty gig.
I didn’t chase OT. At the demise the OT scams came to light. I wasn’t a company man yet the scams were pretty low. From manipulating sick leave with your mate on standby and sharing the windfall, to pinching HKT trips for visual approach training ( but none was done ). It was the company men too, who’d roll back and risk life and limb, for that extra minute by not setting the park brake. Anyways the salary was amazing to me and Qantas friends never believed me when I said a year at KA worth 3-4 at QF-dependant upon your investing success ( few taxes versus high taxing Australia). Time rolls on. The amazing salaries I’m seeing are in the US now. Though many claiming there’s great coin still at CX if a trainer and on high hours. |

I’m pretty sure my last year before COVID was 3.6 million at KA. That was for the whole package including 70K a month to pay off your properties and 180K a year for one of those fancy HKG schools for a child. KA had a contracted CNY bonus and a significant annual gratuity. Travel fund still provided something and those prone to injury, doubled up on insurance pay.

That’s right GardenBomb, Cx are now taking KA Captains back on wide bodies and year 4 Captain pay. It’s a bit like when you cowboys were giving priority 25 on our staff travel, I say !
I am sure you know there are many pilots who got their Command after 15 years through no fault of their own. I though the disparity between fleets was bad enough. |

After a life of 10 weeks annual leave and getting paid more than our CX brothers and sisters ( apologies for assuming gender ), perhaps they need to up the offer? Alternatively, just leave all those jets parked, until they can lower the standards enough to promote en masse! |
