Hi
I have been invited to a HKE interview in August. Can anybody who has been recently please give me some feedback on the interview process, notably the sim check, compass test and face to face interview. How long does it take, what is involved in the sim ride etc. Thanks Luggage:ok: |
Help for HK Express assessment?
Hi guys. I will do an interview and sim assessment next month in HK. Could someone give me some tips for that? Thanks!

Don't expect to fly more than 60-70 max before next year. HKE has A320 Neo grounded due to PW Engine problems. Might go back to 900h/year from next year though. |
Anyone got invited for interview and assessment recently? Guess that they're slowing down recruitment.
How long did it take you from completing application to getting email for interview? Thank you for your input. |

FO1= with less than 1500h Jet Time, 80h 80525 HKD and 50h 47815 HKD. No flight pay during training. Training 4-6 months before check to line, pay around 35k.

How do you survive in HK on 47k pm as an expat assuming you do 50 hrs pm? Forget about bringing a wife and kid along to HK.
54000 if you are before 1500hrs on type 69000 for above 1500 below 3000hrs 77000 for above 3000 hrs no idea about tax and mpf deduction details. |
No flight hour pay during the line training. So FO1 (less than 1500h jet) expect 35k until you're check to line. (mini 6 months)

Can anyone answer this?
Basic salary will be about $80K/month for no flying. If you fly 900 hours/year, it works out to be around $145K/month. I think they do about 50-60 hrs/month.. around $110K .... Most of the captains leave their families back home (Philippines, Malaysia, etc...) and just fly back on their off days. It's not a career airline. |

No. HKD per month. Divide this by 7.8 if you want to get USD. |

They will be Gross, ie before tax. In Hong Kong you are responsible for paying your own Income Tax to the IRD each year. Employers in Hong Kong aren't responsible for that.
No no no, Its the EK of LCC.. all the above mentioned are USD, tax free, per month ... Just wait until you hear about the rest of the "package" .... housing, education, retirement benefits, etc .... but for the love of god, don't let anyone else know... especially on a world wide internet forum ... := |
