P2X = talk on the radio and operate autopilot buttons under the supervision of P1. P1 flies in an emergency.

What is so hard to understand?
1. S/O logs P2X in the P2X column for the time he is in the seat.
2. F/O's log P2 for the time they are in the seat when they are PM.
3. F/O's log P1U/S for the time they are in the seat when they are PF.
4. Captain logs P1 for whole flight.

If I'm going to end up in court for something my relief does, I'm damn sure I'm going to log all the time in my log book.

Who really cares? Any airline worth working for knows what your experience is without cracking your logbook. A well written resume and thorough interview is more than sufficient.
