"cx line driver....is that delay in promotion without any compensation disregarding the extra 10 years you'll get earning the best part of $HK1.5 million per year, or did you forget to factor that in to the great scheme of things"

do you really think guys are going to work to 65? making 50 in cx will be hard enough. :ugh:

Bull Crap .....

They hired me when I told them I was a 707 pilot .... but in actual fact I was never a 707 pilot just a sim instructor

I started to get embarrassed telling chicks I was a Caribou pilot because none of them new what a Caribou was .... So I had to switch it up and just tell them I was a 707 driver instead ...

Edited for Shot Nancy ...

Shot Nancy 25th Feb 2011 11:09

Thank you Toss.

Fly747 25th Feb 2011 12:47

Where?

Uh Nancy I get Neptune 2 but where is The Oaks?

cxlinedriver 26th Feb 2011 04:28

Working past 55 because there is a delay in promotion is not compensation. It is working for longer than one might have otherwise been able to achieve.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your mistress, 3rd wife, warbirds, sports cars and holiday homes and yachts. I don't mind having my promotion slowed up so you can continue to enjoy the high life.

Captain Dart 26th Feb 2011 05:31

In that case why did you complain?

Air Profit 26th Feb 2011 09:07

CX Line Driver: ...yea, and i'm sure you would end your career prematurely to benefit your 'juniors'..? To**er!

Capt Toss Parker 26th Feb 2011 09:28

In actual fact I drive a Porsche ... have a warbird and guess what I'm also divorced!

COS 08 all the way! Give back to aviation we cant afford to lose the experience on the fleet ... if us old codgers left the airline would collapse and then you'd all be out of a job.

cxlinedriver 27th Feb 2011 23:03

You are the tosser Air Profit

I would retire tomorrow if I could and I had planned on retiring at 55. I don't want to be working nights any longer than I have to.

No one is asking you to cut your career short but you could at least be honest enough to acknowledge that working beyond 55 slows up the careers of those below you.

Humber10 27th Feb 2011 23:58

some here are trying to justify working longer and cant understand that it was the RA55 contract that allowed them quick commands and now they dont want to afford crew junior the same opportunity.

some people must be deluded to think that junior crew actually want to extend :ugh: This is however old news. Prior to RA65, Some A scalers were saying it was those who accepted B scale that eroded the COS, now they have accepted C scale and have eroded it even further, thats ok. so whose to blame :} ,well we all know that answer, but it highlights the culture of individuals just doing what is best for themselves and not what is best for everyone.

whats done is done, so we move on, but it rubs salt in the wound when some deny that it affects junior crew and think that those junior want to and will extend.

Humber10

You delude yourself into believeing that those pilots, "senior" to you, that have extended (morons you called them) need to justify themselves to you?

You're not the only victim here....we are all victims of the market forces and management culture that have strangled aviation for the past 20 years.

Direct your frustration towards those that have created this can of worms.

Humber 10

you might want to look at what's happening to retirement age across the world...do you think those selfless BA and Virgin types are standing down 5 or 10 years earlier in order to let those precious F/O's below them take early commands?...yeah right..and why the hell should they?...in order for those F/O's to be able to work 5 or 10 years more than them with all the financial rewards that would bring? Times change as do contracts ...all the time, in every industry the world over, and we all sometimes benefit from it and sometimes don't.

As for me, my command has been delayed so far probably by about 2 years, but in the long term I will be able to be a captain for up to 10 years longer...if I choose to do so, and yes, its if I choose to as it is with all those staying on now, and thats how it should be.

JayTee777300 9th Mar 2011 09:42

2 SO's on the flight deck = 2 trays of sandwiches!

Can CX afford that or are we gonna get screwed on that too?

Gravox 11th Mar 2011 02:33

More sandwiches!!!!
Excellent, i won't want to upgrade then. An upgrade is only going to ruin my lifestyle anyway.

Sike 11th Mar 2011 05:02

So where are years 5, 6, 7, and 8 on the S.O. salary increments?

Rook 11th Mar 2011 06:38

has this been confirmed yet?
