It seems that there is still confusion at HKA between what is a taxiway and what is a runway.
However, this time it wasn't a case of trying to take off on the taxiway but a case of trying to taxi on the runway......

Here comes another HOTSPOT

Oh my gawd! Hong Kong never had any hotspot until these clowns took to the runw...I mean taxiways! The rumour has it thus:-

Apparently a CX aircraft was taking off from 07R and bugalugs was cleared to follow a KA bird taxiing along J, bugalugs was coming from W, went straight into J7 onto the active runway with one rolling instead of making the right turn into J. CX skipper reportedly rejected TO and I believe certain comments, more like expletives were made about the creative taxiing of these clowns.

It begs the question, if it had been a very heavy CX bird doing the departure, there is probably no way he could have stopped before J7, the consequences and ensuring disaster would have been akin to Tenerife. Good work by that Skipper on CX. As for the other clown, well......you all decide.

Is this another misguided, "I was doing a high speed taxi deal?"

I shouldn't be laughing! LA!

Wasn't there a TV show a few years back that these guy's were on? I'll come back to it when I remember!

If past history is anything to go by, the incursion will be laced with BS and the blame will be put on the "westerner", regardless of whether they were flying that day or not.

Why has HKA not been shut down by HKCAD, any other state would have done so by now!:ugh:

Oh I remember now..."The Muppets", or is it just a three ring circus?:ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh::ugh:

Stay away if you value your life and career!

HKexpress situation

Hi,
After reading this I understand what you all say, and is there any possibility of improvement of the salaries in the future, the whole situation seems to be really hard for pilots there.
They contacted me and I am now confused. I spoke with a guy from DragonAir who was not even aware of that and was quite surprised. 17000hk$ is less than "anywhere" else? How can they change the contracts, are they still paying what they say at the beggining a few month? I don't get it but of course I really pay attention to your post.
Anyway thanks for the advices.

mass debator 24th Jan 2010 00:27

.......and the monkey's just keep on posting.

Judging by the standard of engrish.....the above post is another example of a pathetic attempt by snake management to make it look as though there are actually humans out there interested in HKA.

They must be embarrased at the LACK OF INTEREST in people attending interviews.....

mcdude 24th Jan 2010 02:49

17k per month? Dragonair CABIN Crew get more than that!

intelligentpilot 24th Jan 2010 10:19

17,000. That used to be the basic salary. I believe it has gone up a little maybe to 22,000 for Basic Salary? You might get a little flight salary if your lucky.

When you go on your yearly holiday, enjoy the hanging around the Aviator. That's all you can afford.

Salary for your Anual leave - 22000

Rent-15000
Airline Ticket Home (for one person)- 16,000
Leave the family in Hong Kong, family life is not important.
Other bills for that month?
Spending money on holiday?

TOTAL = costs more than you earn that month. The only holiday you can afford is a day trip to Macau, food court, and watching Discovery Channel. No money for you.:yuk:

Resolving HKA Contract Anomalies

For those who need any clarification on the terms of the rather dubious "contracts" being offered by HKA, attend the Labout Tribunal. The Singa Turkeys are back in court again. A case this week with another to follow soon.

You should be able to iron out any questions if you you pay close attention.

XOP's ..... The only way to operate....

MD330 30th Jan 2010 08:29

Why are you waiting for HKA to kill hundreds of people before taking any action?

OR "SHUTTING DOWN"
:ugh: - hear some heavy recruitment ongoing for the A330 operations. ;) As rumour goes including some AHK guys too..:suspect:

Happy landings! :ok:

takamasa 30th Jan 2010 11:52

wondering if there's any HKA or HKE pilots here!!?

REPLY

Thanks mass debrator,
your english is nice, and your reply is nice too. It is such a pleasure to post something and get this kind of answer. Anyway thaks for your advise I'll keep an eye on that.
Ps: by the way can you speak something else than engrish?

Blown Seal 4th Feb 2010 11:20

from flight international:

Hong Kong Airlines has agreed to take another six Airbus A330-200s, under a new memorandum of understanding with the airframer.

The airline originally agreed to take 20 A330s under a similar memorandum in early 2007, and this was firmed in September of the same year.

But Airbus' backlog figures for December 2008 show that the carrier subsequently cut this order by three aircraft to 17.

The new agreement for six A330-200s - which comes during the week of the Singapore Air Show - will take Hong Kong Airlines' overall commitment to 23 of the type.

Hong Kong Airlines plans to use the aircraft on routes across the Asia-Pacific region, and for flights to destinations in Europe and the Middle East.

No engine selection has been disclosed for the additional six aircraft but Hong Kong Airlines chose the Rolls-Royce Trent 700EP for its previous batch.

Hong Kong Airlines also has 30 Airbus A320s on order.

Personally I can't wait to see the arrival of these orders, its going to be amusing to watch the increased rate at which money is lost. Not being able to manage 2 airframes effectively is funny, trying to operate 50 odd will be hilarious. The bull**** told to Hainan by the ex-SQ failures (that call themselves management) about how good they are and what they can deliver will finally be exposed and it will their turn for heads to roll. Its called Karma you f@ck!ng dogs and your time is coming.:=

cf680c2b 4th Feb 2010 17:16

So how many are they adding for 2010 and 2011 and so on...

if they take just a couple per year, it might be manageable (for the average manager).

Ex Cathedra 6th Feb 2010 05:09

The first A330 is supposed to be deliverd in March. This should be fun.

How's the recruiting and training going over there?

Apparently they ordered the last batch with PW engines instead of the RR they ordered for the first ones.
...Ask me if that makes sense....

geh065 6th Feb 2010 12:12

The reason that the new batch have P&W engines is because those planes are already built and are sitting outside the Toulouse hangar right now. They were ordered by the parent company of Aerolineas Argentinas and have not been taken up. Since they are already around, expect delivery pretty soon!

takamasa 10th Feb 2010 10:50

i am wondering if HKA is hiring right now

i really wanna join this airline.

anyone knows their requirement?

captain.diperkosa 10th Feb 2010 11:15

Takamasa.
Congratulations you got the job. :D

HKA Requirements.
1. Read and write in English, but not understand more than 45 pages of pprune explaining to you how bad this company is.
2. Read this entire pprune on HKA and still wish to join.
3. Know you will be fu%ked, and still begging to get job at hka.
4. really really really stupid dumb ass.
:ugh:
And you will get special consideration for a job if you have past experiences in taking off on taxiway, or get lost easily at home base when taxi aircrafts.

you are a real idiot

waffler 11th Feb 2010 10:02

Greetings from Ireland.
When I heard that Hong Kong Airlines were getting the A330, it got my interest however after reading this forum I realised what a bunch of asses the management are.So they can stick the job right up there.
Good luck to all fellow pilots at HKA. :D
