The perfect Storm
There has never been a better time for the pilots to send a message to the company showing their common dissatisfaction.
Yeh you might loose a few hours....but you will be doing 900 anyway.
Sore throat season is very common over CNY.
No more policy...bring back CoS08...bring back fixed contracts.

Even if they call it "permanent contract" again, or any other name, it won't be worth the toilet paper its written on.
You will never have an enforceable employment contract in Hong Kong. We never did. We found out NOV 2020. Where have you been?

Yep. We’re on a 3 month rolling contract, oops, policy document in a jurisdiction which is strictly on the side of the employer. Pay structure and terms and conditions will change at any time they deem suitable, and DEC/DEFOs will continue as well as out-of-seniority upgrades at their sole discretion. Consequently we will become (already are) a revolving door airline like EK; people joining, leaving, rejoining.
Don’t get bitter, accept it for what it is as long as it suits your personal circumstances. As soon as those circumstances change or something better comes along, so long and thanks for all the fish!
Life is too short to be bitter.
