Sickness Intimidation Policy

So now we must fly sick against the HK ANO.... unless you call in sick on a Wednesday and it is also not a public holiday, not a festive holiday, not a training duty, not connected to your leave, not in an outport, not in any form of pattern.....basically you have to be missing a limb.
I wonder what the CAD thinks of this new policy.

I’m guessing that in these desperate times, the HKCAD will be very happy to rubberstamp any “proposal” cx puts in front of them.
I’m kidding of course.
The CAD doesn’t require desperate times for that to happen.

Bro, if your girlfriend is beating you... rather leave her than complain is not punching your face strong enough...yet.

Has anyone else had a long haul taken away from their roster, after they called in sick for a few days?

You mean financial intimidation, ie. Cathay ops 101?

KABOY nailed it.

Got to love the GMA trying to prove her worth! How does she feel, holding position(s), where she is the most hated person in the company, on top of that she’s not Swire, so no prospects of being promoted to the board, no prospect of getting rotated to another job and no golden hand shake when she retires, just thrown to the side of the road when her time is up

The same change to Ops A appears to allow for DECs from CX Group airlines.

HK Express will hire external DECs.

Those Captains will then be come across internally to CX, allowing CX to maintain its policy of not hiring DECs.

As I remember cathay hired DECs right into the 747 from Oasis in 2007 or 2008. So cathay never had a policy of not hiring DECs. Cathay never had any policy it respected when it didn't suit them.

To say nothing of ASL; DEC in everything but name.

No the Oasis and KA freighter pilots joined as FOs, they did a CX command.

As you say, same with the Dragon 747 Captains. They joined CX as First Officer (Rapid Command). Two sims and four sectors then three stripes became four.

That was direct entry command. Nobody is fooled by transparent BS like that. They were hired to be captains. The process was set at the time of hiring. Many companies mpanies do it this way. Just so they can claim no DEC. They were all told they won't spend a day as an FO. They were hired with the extra training and qualification already scheduled as the last part of their newhire training. You can call it a duck but if it's a chicken, then it's a chicken.

Flex88... Is your new life away from cx/dragon so boring that you've got nothing better to do than hang out on fragrant harbour, commenting negatively about everyone that still works for cx? Or are you one of those hypocrites that still works for cx, but tells the rest of us how stupid we are for still working for cx?

I find it so childlike when people comment on those who have left that still post on this forum, remarks such as get a life, if it's so great having left why are you here etc etc. WTAF, it's the internet, I left but read FH, CX was a big part of my life as was HK. Literally five minutes a week at most, more this week as I am writing this. Bizzare. No I don't miss CX, much happier where I am now but the **** show I spent years enduring interests me enough to read about it, if only to confirm what I already knew, definitely the right move. Good luck btw, very rarely did I not enjoy the company of those I worked with.
