I find it so childlike when people comment on those who have left that still post on this forum, remarks such as get a life, if it's so great having left why are you here etc etc. WTAF, it's the internet, I left but read FH, CX was a big part of my life as was HK. Literally five minutes a week at most, more this week as I am writing this. Bizzare. No I don't miss CX, much happier where I am now but the shit show I spent years enduring interests me enough to read about it, if only to confirm what I already knew, definitely the right move. Good luck btw, very rarely did I not enjoy the company of those I worked with.
Feeling the need to always add useless negative commentary at every single chance you can get like a damn attention seeking chihuahua snapping at the heels to desperately justify to yourself and others that you made the right choice by leaving (which you probably did), now THAT'S childlike.
Everyone is aware of the sh*tshow going on and don't need constant reminding from anyone that's had the chance to leave (good on 'em). Well, everyone except VOCH at least, it seems.

With the (mythical) thousands of pilots that have supposedly left CX and that no one will work for the airline according to the nonsense spouted by the haters on here perhaps some of you must wonder who is flying the aircraft on the now 63 routes that have so far resumed - in fact its mostly the same guys and girls that were flying these routes back in 2019

When talking about such an extremely toxic employer, it naturally tends to be equally negative. Those who are stuck there without any options or ambition of course don't want to be reminded of the reality. So they lash out at reality based comments.

So now we must fly sick against the HK ANO.... unless you call in sick on a Wednesday and it is also not a public holiday, not a festive holiday, not a training duty, not connected to your leave, not in an outport, not in any form of pattern.....basically you have to be missing a limb.
I wonder what the CAD thinks of this new policy.

If you feel intimidated or that the policy if unsafe contact HKCAD.

Buzz Box -your info is way out of date = 45% by end January providing that enough aircraft back in service
Baby jet -you do write rubbish - I see many routes going back to daily or double daily inc AU, US, Japan London China destinations etc-4 to Manila today.
Best perhaps not to confuse what you wish with what is the reality
Mkand - so am I to assume those are mythical pilots flying the 63 operating routes
Many of you guys complained bitterly that the seniority list was too long and promotion too slow - still complaining = no change other than added bitterness that the airline is doing so well as of course is HK Express with more aircraft and routes almost weekly.
There seem to be a lot of Australians about again !

So what? Yet again, you missed the point. The airline is currently operating well below full capacity and, according to official statements, expects to remain that way for quite some time. Why do you suppose the airline only aims to reach pre-pandemic capacity by the end of 2024, almost two years from now? Care to hazard a guess instead of continually gaslighting readers and ignoring statements made by the airline that don’t fit your narrative?

Its the pilots! The pilots are responsible for the deteriorating conditions we hear about. There will always be weasels who will accept the poorer conditions just to get the job. In time, they too will be shafted by another group willing to accept even less and so it goes.
How do you go from one the best airline jobs in the world to how it is now in just 30 years. Sycophancy is the answer.

Half of the captains have left...
Cathay can have 2 out of 3 of the following:
1. Enough pilots to run a full scedule.
2. Cos-18 paid pilots.
3. Good quality pilots.
we will see which 2 cx will choose...

Instead of quality aviators, they’re choosing to count on modern aircraft being much easier to fly and the general dumbing-down of the profession. For the one aircraft we still operate that requires a modicum of skill, they plan to depend heavily on the remaining experienced skippers shouldering the load of flying with inexperienced guys and girls (several of whom only a few years ago would never even have been hired as S/Os, let alone checked to the line in the RHS).
For the rest, they plan on relying on blind luck (what could go wrong?) If the unthinkable happens, well, that’s what insurance is for. Much hand-wringing and navel-gazing will follow, as will words of condolence and a “full investigation“. Some heads will roll on the third floor, but by then realistically those actually responsible for this train wreck will have long since cashed their sizeable bonuses and waltzed off.
We really should know better in a safety-sensitive industry, but this is a repeating cycle that even Boeing fell for recently: in the tug of war between bottom-line-obsessed accountants and safety-obsessed engineers/pilots, if you let the balance sway too far in the direction of cost-saving, smoking holes are the inevitable end result.
Let’s hope our luck holds.

I don't mean for anyone to get hurt but CX management need a few serious incidents to shake them up and stop hacking and slashing their staffs conditions...

All that’s required is another recruitment policy where as Bokpiel highlights ‘ passports of no value in other countries’.
COS 18 will flourish on the back of a passport that carries little to no value…
Unless you go home of course, which eventually might be more beneficial than watching CX rewriting the handbook.

CX will always get its way, unfortunately. The training ban did F all to them. Cos18 is doing F all to them. They will just keep dropping their standards and recruit from places with surplus pilots, whether they are up to par or not.
