This is how it IS going to happen

Company hold talks with HKAOA at the start of the summer schedule. Due to bad weather and extra summer holiday sectors added on they need us to work hard. Talks will drag on all summer ‘with progress being made’. Talks will FAIL as the winter schedule starts due good weather and less sectors to fly. Talks will start again just before next summer schedule.
I have seen this happen 29 times

Hope it didn’t take 29 iterations to figure that out???

HKAOA might as well just walk in, throw down written demands on the table, and say call us when you are ready to address ALL of these. Until then, CC and TB stay on. Have a nice day!

This is the exactly how to do it and exactly how it must be done. Period.

"New DFO"??
You mean "Same DFO" but different person. Only Merlin Swire will have the ears of anyone important so until he is alarmed ( the Swires just increased their wealth in the Sunday Times Rich List by hundreds of millions LAST YEAR!!), nobody in Swire HQ could care less about the problems anyone is having with 2 SOs, housing, salary or any other inconsequential nonsense you guys whinge about.
You are like an annoying fly in their offices. They find you tedious and boring and overpaid for what you do.
Get used to it or leave.........

Between DFOs? Perhaps this would be the perfect time to take action?

Folks,

Timing the cycle is what they do.
An adversarial model relies upon using utmost leverage.
All the points made are examples.

They generally open (if the contract expiry facilitates) on an business cycle upswing, then extend into the top.
They then as the cycle rolls over, delay, let bad news (oil prices, airline collapse or the JFK assassination it matters little) then look for concessions

It is the same template at almost every airline.
