Ton For Tom
I wish to introduce an inspirational new corporate strategy called "Ton For Tom" (TFT). In the strategy crews will use their skill and experience to burn an extra ton of fuel per sector. It's not going to be easy and, initially at least, only the best will be able to consistently achieve this target but with practice this extra ton will become commonplace.

Shouldn't be too difficult , diversions off track for storms , you may be the only ones able to see them but who cares , fatigue makes you do funny things ,
Early descents , early configuring ,
Oh the list goes on and on .

There was always some reluctance in my day to "flying badly" ie no directs, not asking for efficient flight levels, descending early and configuring too soon etc etc. It seemed unprofessional but it's not us that was being unprofessional. It's the wave after wave of Swire Automatons who accept the mantra that pilots are just a bunch of "millionaire morons". This situation is all their fault so now they should be made to pay. You're fighting for survival here and the pilot group has just been singled out for special humiliation. Good luck to you all in what appears to be the 'end game'.

Just loading an extra 10 tons for the wife and kids on all regional sectors will get you most of what you are looking for. Given all the crap weather and ATC delays these days who is going to haul you over the coals and who cares if they try. FWIW.

I wouldn’t waste fuel, it’s unprofessional, bad for the environment, and let’s face it, until you land it’s actually your fuel not theirs, keeping you away from the edge of your seat if something unexpected happens on arrival.
However... no harm in taking an extra few tons with you every time you have any doubts, and these are doubtful times...

The Boeing Fleet Office often stated in the fleet newsletters that you should “Fly It Like You Own It”.
I think now is the time this should be changed to: “Fly It Like You Have Been Robbed”
... and no, even if they changed their policy and back-paddled to also pay Cpts 35k, it would neither be acceptable nor a victory.
Let the management feel your anger where it hurts them most – Fuel and OTP.
