Housing Cost
Have a look at the graph further down this article. HK housing is grossly overpriced, getting even more expensive and CX seems to think the solution is to LOWER the overall amount of housing allowance in the company. Tell you what Anna, why don't you solve your housing cost issue in one fell swoop: open the bases. If you are not willing to do that, then you can stuff your moaning about housing costs right up the pipe.

Bazillions are supposedly gone. No one here really knows WHERE this money went or how it was paid or to whom the beneficiary is.
Absent this the operation is kinda profitable but the cover story was used to give hundreds the ax.
And now it's being propagandized to push for further cuts.
As Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute.
Whatever they are these folks are they are NOT stupid. It's sometimes easier to forgive bumbling than deliberate malice or corruption and this is often a tactic used.
Sos I'd be careful not to get suckered in.

They don't care about what happens in a year or two's time. Any cost cutting they can do now contributes directly to their bonus. They'll be gone to Swire Bottling or whatever soon. They don't give a toss about airlines, pilots , staff, customers, or anything else. They certainly don't care about money or profit except as it affects their bonus.

Both of the above two posts are spot on. If sickness rates are not spiking from October forward, I would be very shocked. This negotiation is clearly no such thing. The need for cuts is a ruse to cover mismanagement. Trainers ought to be resigning en masse. Upgrades should slow to a trickle. The rosters should all fall apart. Flights should delay or cancel. Look at your rosters and tactically pick the most disruptive spots to book off unfit and/or fatigued. It's past time to grow some balls or this career won't be worth saving. Seriously, if things are business as usual for you, ask yourselves why you do nothing.
