TA vote extension result

63% against
35% for

As expected, the lemmings in the membership blindly follow what the GC recommends re voting.

It's all over with the TA. It will get up easily courtesy of the GC recommendation and the majority of the blinkered and selfish HKPA's.

Maybe it's just a case of the NO camp not needing any more time to kill this steaming pile and trying to send it back to the trash ASAP...

Maybe 63% saw this vote as an attempt to kill the TA before it could be voted on.

I have already voted No to the the TA and also put a NO for extension, didn't need any more time and I know quite a few who have done the exact same thing. I think most just want to get the result in so we can move on to the next step which ever that may be. Im expecting 60-65% No vote when the result comes out tomorrow

I don't need any more time to think about it, it's a NO for me.
Based on what I have been reading over the last few days, there seems like many reasons to vote NO & only one to vote Yes, that being you have given up!
Don't give up boys, this fight really matters a great deal to us, start acting like it !

The idea of this vote was to remove the carrot in front of the few potential yes voters. the higher percentage by which we reject this TA will give us more leverage.

Union negotiator resigns

A little bird says MR has resigned. Not sure if that is from the committee or just Negotiating Team.

Wonder what this has to do with the offer?

Likewise. I have voted no for the TA and I subsequently voted no for the extension. Don't need anymore time as my decision was made a long time ago.

Voted NO to both. Don't need to delay getting the message back to management that their offer is a stinking pile of....

It has nothing to do with the quality of the offer. The NC has finished their task.

The NC put in their time and effort and achieved the agreement we have in front of us. They presented this TA to the General Committee with the understanding 'this was the best deal they could negotiate'.

If the vote is YES then their efforts were a success. If the Vote is NO then we are stating the TA is unacceptable and the NC must now be replaced because this was as far as they could go.

Regardless of the vote or our personal opinion of the TA, the Negotiating Committee deserves our thanks for all they have done! Not many of US are willing to make the sacrifice and accept the responsibility of being on the NC.

pain

I've never heard that done before. When the Ozies voted down their deal, the same negotiators stayed on to get the new deal. They only stopped being negotiators when the final deal was passed.

Never heard of any negotiators leaving because a deal they pushed failed! Specially since he seemed more motivated to sell this deal than most- seems like, toys, cot!

I don't blame the negotiators. I blame the company intransigence. At least with a NO vote, our NC can walk back in the room and basically say "I told you so". Then, like adults (our side), sit down and work out a deal that actually does address the real problems.
