The only answer can be from the Avmed doctors (AMA not AME).
I believe that I have heard of one pilot in another company that has this and flies - but only rumour.
Since there are no acute issues, as long as the treatment is planned and monitored, I believe that there may be a good case for a Class 1 continuing to be renewed. I couldn't guarantee what they might think about a initial issue though.
Good luck and good health.

I know of one guy who flies in HK with the same condition.
I'm not sure of the conditions imposed by the Avdocs. If it's a recent diagnosis, they usually want to wait for while to see if and how it develops, and then might consider giving the medical back when under treatment and the condition has proven to be stable and managed.
Not sure how it might go, but there is precedent...
Good luck.
