New Advisor to the DFO
It seems like a recent retired DFO from the yellow cargo company has slotted back into the swoosh system...
Advisor to the DFO... A boost to moral no doubt, perhaps they have forgotten about the events in '02 and she wanted a first hand recount...
The show must go on!

If "AM", who ever the heck that is, still has to work after all of these years - they must not be very intelligent anyway! There is something called life - live it.
I can say that this new person probably needs to look at how to hire people who have actually been flying airplanes (not MS flight sim), instead of firing anybody. Unless of course, they would like to not have crew for CX's mysterious A350.
I hope that we can agree to not allow an increase JFK base slots. The direct entry program 'they' have conceived will in fact escalate the current lack of progress. I can see it now, "Dear pilots, because we our concerned about your welfare, we have decided to open up Direct entry positions on the JFK base under COS 15. sincerely, AT".

Normally mad ox are shot and discarded.
Obviously, times are different now. Few are on A scale. Hardly anyone is on a live-able wage in Hong Kong, and most are guys are trying to get out - wondering where the last decade of their life went. Even the locals are trying to leave Hong Kong and start fresh somewhere else.... pollution, HK being merged with China early, cost of living, and corruption.
I'd say the mission for this mysterious 'AM' fellow will be inordinately different.

I suspect that by his very inclusion in the Management team a further decision has been made to work AGAINST the pilot body rather than WITH the pilot body. AM was part of the last dose of unpleasantness which resulted in the 49-ers, to bring him back into the fold NOW can only signal a fresh round of aggression and confrontation to establish the Management wishes. If you have a tenancy agreement with a three month break clause, now might be a good time to activate that as things will get bumpy from here on. Leave slots have been restricted until the end of June which indicates that after that Management think that they will have the Contract Compliance fixed by then and "normal" exploitation of goodwill can resume in July. They have their own timetable and their own agendas.

I agree totally with your sentiment, Except: how many/who are the lucky few on A scale.??
That scale finished in '99.

Current 'B' is above that. Names/numbers please.
