Job: Senior Operations Inspector
I have seen recently ad regarding Inspector job in Hong Kong CAD. Besides salary, does anybody knows amount for housing?
I suppose that salary amount of 109,000 hkd is for experienced Captains and Trainers?
Thanks.

Hi Ford,
According my source from CAD, top grade salary is for anyone holding ATPL more than 8 years.
Housing allowance is around 29,000 HK$.
Recently, salary was increased to 117,000 HK$, not sure if it will be applicable to new inspectors from the start.
Hope this may help.

Ford ( and I hope that's a 65 fastback)!
Quite a bit of mis information here I think.
Anecdotal conversations lead me to believe that the SOI position is a way to enable foreign workers, who domestically do not meet the FOI HK Permanent residency requirements.
Pay is less, but flying duties are probable.
My info is not first hand, but from a " reliable source".
Best you just apply because recruitment conditions are varying.

1. What is the age limit for the position?
2.Is there any flying at all?
At this moment, one FOI (C) is still working for CAD. He is 79-80 years old.
2. You may have a chance to fly, but not more than 4 days a month.
Cheers!
One of the FOI's who started fairly recently was the HKT based Captain who was fired by Cathay for being slightly economical with the whereabouts of his yacht. Maybe he's not much to do with CX but I guess it could be a wonderful payback checking how economical Cathay is with matters that disadvantage it - like ASRF's - if he was.

At least now he can just call up CX and tell them he is doing an "inspection",
take his whole family along for the ride, stay at the destination for two weeks leave , and do another on the return flight!!!!

And he legaly may check the other pilots in Hong Kong??
Without valid rating and license???
Anyway,we see some other, younger Inspectors "inspecting" my airline.
But, but:
some of them never operated heavy jet from the left seat.
And never did any training and checking!
I wonder: is there any oversight from ICAO, FAA, EASA????
Or, they just do not care?
