YET ANOTHER VOTE FOR CC

Seriously?

Standby for another vote - to vote on a vote that got voted in by a 94% vote.

Vote vote vote.. and then another rushed last minute "offer" around the 11th hour, outside of any GOOD BARF dreamt up by a previous GC.

Anyone fancy another survey that asks the same question 5 times.

What a circus.

Viva la France!

Compared to this outfit France is a 1st rate, functional system.

At least when their guys say enough, they mean it and they act.

Us? We vote!
So sad.

Yes. and they really stuck it to them, didn't they. Population against them, cabin crew not interested, pissed away billions, and the Trans@via LCC is going ahead anyway.
Result. !!!

Jacobus,
I would argue the AF pilots did a great job at protecting their future. Seems like the greedy managers are the ones who put the company in the position the found themselves. Funny you never hear of managers at LCC airlines working for subpar management wages. Somehow they expect me for work for subpar pilot wages. Well enough of that BS!!!

I would agree with your point about working for sub-par wages. How many AF "mainline" pilots will work for Transavia France ? Very few. Maybe the odd seconded manager / trainer for a while. This is just another LCC brought in by stealth ( Vuelling being another example) and they will just recruit guys direct in to Transavia France on far lower conditions and terms. Eventually the AF network ( and KLM for that matter) both domestically and intra Europe will shrink, as Transavia takes over more and more of it. That sadly is the realism of the LCC model and that equally sadly is part of the never ending race to the bottom. And that I suspect is the real result, in 5 or 10 years time.

Technically, another vote is probably required so there you have it.

HOWEVER, given the compay's material breach (as evidenced in many of our rosters) there's no reason really to wait and, other than having a few more specific tactics, strong motivation for so doing by the chicanery we saw on the 15th. We have some decent guidance via current and previous union communications right now as to what this will entail. Why wait ?

So's the 'reasonable man' would probably launch now and wait for the rubber stamp later. We REALLY need to stop lagging the fight.

Those students camping in the streets of mongkok and facing off the police at the barricades, have more balls and courage than our GC.

Just looked up 'superfrozo' on crew direct. Can't seem to find it.

Standard political tactic. If you can't dispute the truth of a statement, just attack the messenger.

Could someone let me know when Management have ever INCREASED any offer already made? So voting and Contract Compliance threats are pointless. Let me know when your second vote on the same subject is done I may just want to get out from under my duvet to see.

They'll keep shoving it and unfortunately well keep on taking it.........

After 20+ years here I do believe this is probably our best opportunity to fight back but I'll believe it when I see it.

Divide and conquer is alive and well and Swire love it.

Oops, damn auto correct.... ( actually I didn't know how to spell it but please don't tell anyone :-) )

"Divide and concur"?

Does that mean that we'll all agree separately?...

I concur that we are divided AND conquered. Betpump- I may be a "muppet", but one with some experience here and some sense of reality. If you were serious about pushing back at the system you would already have moved to CC for which you already had a clear mandate from the vote held previously . So I question whether the AOA has any strength or appetite for a confrontation. If you DO elect to jump off a cliff then on the way down just glance around to see how many of your colleagues are still holding your hand. Been there, done that.

Already into overtime and offered a trip tomorrow: NO I didn't pick up, YES I got the VoiceMail, NO I'm not doing it, because I'm a good little boy. The consequence of this is probably in one fell swoop to entirely wipe out any pay increase we might ever get (not holding my breath) and STILL have to go through the pain/angst/drama/stress/loss of ??travel, swaps, etc etc for no reason. Apparently though I'll be able to hold my head up high because I, "WON", "Registered my Disgust", "Made a Point". A Zero-Sum year/few years isn't really doing it for me, feel free to cheer me up or attack but re-read my "Good Boy" actions first.

If everyone was already in unofficial contract compliance it would force their hand and they could not be as punitive.

To answer your question,
the years leading up to and including 1992. The HKAOA knocked back the payrise offered and then negotiated an amount that was above the imposed amount.

There was no payrise offered for A scale in 2000 or 2001 UNTIL we went into CC. Then we were offered the 'face saving' HDP payrise to offset the A scale cuts AND increase the B scale payrise since we were still losing so many pilots.

Since then(until this year) - we have only knocked back one payrise(2007) but we didn't go into contract compliance afterwards so they imposed their offer.

In 2014? Ask me again in a year's time and I will tell you what happened.
