Once again - All these new 'contracts' are dreamt up by people on multi- million dollar packages including education allowance and $HK100,000 per month housing allowance that's probably paying off the mortgage on their third house! Don't be fooled into thinking you will EVER be able to buy yourself a car in HK, let alone a house!
Bonus, money, status, ego, money, bonus, self - is all these 3rd and 9th floor people are bothered about. Not you, not your family or anyone's welfare except their own.
Stay away - please. ( I know you won't but please don't say you haven't been warned.) Best Airline in the World 2014?? That will have cost money - believe me.

No one has mentioned the degradation to the COS from day 1 when new joiners are forced to sign an agreement to PAX on frighters.

That should be your first clue. CX offer this contract, CoS08, but don't like some of what is in it. So you have to sign that away to take the job, in this case PX on the freighter. When I joined, I was told to sign such that I might have to fly the freighter "from time to time" even on passenger terms. All these little take backs are indicative of what you can expect your whole career, a company that continuously erodes your contract both overtly and via inflation. It really is a dog's breakfast in CX these days. Those of you telling yourselves otherwise are lying just to feel better.
