Question The "49" Dollar Question

49ers.

What do you think about your mates taking your jobs via the swift upgrades?

Wish I had mates like them, not.

"A" Scalers, love your work.

Probably a bit close to the mark, much easier to victimise the youngsters don't you think.

Question

I forgot to ask.

If new recruits are called "scabs" for not supporting the ban, what do we LABEL the pilots who SWIFTLY jumped in for an upgrade and the T.Capts and C.Capts who processed them?

"Hero's"
"The S.S." (support scab)
"The Hypocrite Brigade"
"DISSEMBLERS" my fav!

Oh and "Frankg", have a real nice day! Buddy, pal, mate, dissembler.

Oh and Bengi25, have the balls to publish a list of the above names and a form to register as a "DISSEMBLER." Let's start with you and Frankg!

I cannot vouch for the proclivities of my father, but, to the best of my knowledge I am not a blood relative of the people you mentioned. Did I not agree with your position or something? Sorry. And there are other names that could be used for people involved in this dispute like Tin Plated Butt, and I'm Alright Jack. My position is clear, the only way that I can see; (1) any resolution to the dispute involving the 49ers and (2) any of the 49ers coming home to us to work. Is by changing the AOA committee, a complete cessation of all AOA activity against the company, binning the crappy ban and getting the newbies into the AOA. That's what I feel and I am not anti AOA and especially not anti 49ers. I just don't agree with the way the AOA is heading and I firmly believe that the opinion of all aviators is worth listening to and considering.

Guys, it's simply the old "do as I say, not as I do" scenario at work, with union members asking other people to make sacrifices for them.

SHORTLY,

You say you support the 49's, what by bailing out of the union just when they needed you!

That's fair Hustler. I did do that but you must know that I thought long and hard about what was a very difficult decision. I just got sick of not only being ignored but also not getting information to help me collect my thoughts. I am, and this has not changed, completely opposed to the eight year non-dispute between the AOA and the company. Before you prattle on about the unfair management intimidation etc, please consider that in that eightish years some quite generous offers have been made by the company and every single one was rejected. It is a difficult time for rational folk at the moment and whether you like it or not the ball is certainly in the AOAs court if they want to get back to the negotiating table with the company.

A once only comment for all those (including Alpha Leader and Shortly) who happily abuse the majority of AOA members who do not take part in this forums's threads.

Those that are happy to tell the AOA members what to do and who to do ito do not seem to have the guts to tell CX management to correct any faults they might have. I would have a lot more respect for the verbose new entrants if they were a bit more even-handed about where the faults might lie but the aggression from a few does not bode well for any future flightdeck.

Shortly, I have researched carefully but have yet to find all these "quite generous offers". An offer that is almost instantly withdrawn is hardly one made with the real intent and can hardly be described as "rejected" if it is no longer there! More to the point has been the unkept promises to improve the rostering that have been made ever since 1994. The truth is that CX does not even use the present rostering and request system correctly. What is the point of negotiating a new system if CX is not even prepared to use the one it has and this dates back to before any contract compliance was introduced. With the present lack of confidence in the integrity of management it is no good just blaming the AOA, as many of the non AOA members feel just as strongly about the untrustworthiness of their managers.

I have used rostering as an example as there are current rules that are ignored by CX. The only answer to any of this is going to be negotiations and that takes both sides, plus the intent to honour any agreement. To get any respect and trust from the pilots will involve the return of the 49'ers as without that no-one could ever again plan on a career with CX.

Hey,

Is anybody willing to answer E.P.'s question?? Some of us would like to hear the 49ers input on this too.
