Go to the show.
Don't do interviews until you are prepared, and know and accept the T&Cs.
Come back here and tell us all about it.

Mate, have you not seen their full size front page ad in The Standard over the last few weeks? They've been repeating it. I've never before seen such a high profile recruitment drive by an airline looking for pilots. Makes one almost feel wanted....

They've even got a full sized poster in the ferry pier at DB (just after you pass the coffee shop inside the pier, down the ramp and turn right)

Thumbs down Turkish is not a company for expats

Turkish doesn't like foreign pilots but they need them. You will be paid in local currency and the Turkish Lira is going down, not so many annual leave and you will have to deal with the turkish personnel... think about that. Don't forget, if you apply as FO there is no upgrade unless you have a university degree!

Not that good

I went and was (well not really) surprised by the CX pilot turnout. This said a lot about the displeasure of CX pilots particularly, Europeans.

The devil is in the details. The details are vague ex; after a year you can REQUEST 2xID 90s for you and your family.

Commuting roster but only widebody captains get housing and a ticket home.

Pay is between 8100 and 11200 Euros. But its paid in an odd way.

The Irish Captains answer to the question about FOs being bypassed for DECs told me how they think. Just like CX btw with DECs.

The presentation was weak and it sounded like a sales pitch to a group of investors. Safety is priority blah blah blah. Coby Bryant being there star now. Really? Coby Bryant, he's a tool and had that controversy with his wife. This is your star. Bring back Kevin Kostner.

A BIG NO NO!!

Guys dot't get fooled. You cannot trust THY. They have been fooling around with expat since the very beginning. Salary are down 30%. In the last three days car burned, 7 people killed and a shoot out in the middle of town all politically related. . Political situation is deteriorating, economical situation very grim. Beside terrible CRM, nationalistic attitude, you will be a disposable temporary tool for their dreams of Islamic domination of the world.
FO's got screw by discovering that they will need a degree ( any..even in agricoltural science) to upgrade. A complete **** up..stay away people are leaving.

Political affairs and problems are everywhere, it's temporary, and you porkflyer better be careful with such expressions, car burnt, so what, don't you remember terr acts in London and not only in there. Turkey is still growing country, better yet they're going to build the biggest airport in Istanbul and all these political promblems like you say they're experiencing nowadays as usual have the outside interference. Some wouldn't want to accept the Turkey is one of the powerful states

You seem to have touched a raw nerve Porkflyer, I think your handle may have something to do with it. Last time I was in Turkey there were horse and carts on the road, a backward country that was still bombing the PKD,PUK etc in Iraq from bases in it's own country. Good luck if you go there.

Why on this great green earth would ANYONE consider leaving a HKG airline to work for Turkish? I just can't fathom the reason, and this coming from someone who has been commuting for far too long and looking for a way out of HKG at nearly any cost. Madness.
