Actually after the first year or two, everything gets old. Drinking gets boring and you'd rather get out of Hong Kong or stay at home to avoid the hideous crowds. Be thankful that when you are a SO you can still have time to explore what tiny polluted HK has to offer, but when you are a FO, going to hello kitty city every other day just feel like an office job, with everyone dressed the same - same shirt, suit, dress, tie, hair, kitty nails, nothing special anymore. You get bored seeing the same kind of cakeface every single day. You stay in "motels" beside the airport, your body tired from all the sectors you have just did, you don't really want to spend an hour getting into city, just to start flying a few more hours later. End of the day, you just can't wait to go home and spend time with family than trying to figure out a lonely planet guidebook.
If you have no family like you mentioned, then be sure you wouldn't even want to try to have one here in the future. Possibility of meeting a non-materialistic, non cakeface and nuturing woman is low. Not in Hong Kong. With cx, being a SO will simply be wasting your time but more money in your pocket in a short time. For career and family long term wise, THINK TWICE.
