G day workers you suck!

Just got called on reserve, however during the phone call it was interrupted by "hang on a G day worker has called us back" put on hold then "thanks don't worry, no change we have a G day worker".

We will never learn.

And an he's an AOA member.

Name and shame. We should have a list up on the AOA board. Still can't believe we condone this behavior.

LJ G day workers...

A Long Joker G day worker cost me a fair bit of cash the other month when I was on reserve...couldn't believe that someone would stay in HK for 5 days off...

Selfish is all.

Only one thing worse than 5 days in HK and that's 6.

I see no problem? It gets me a little extra mula and I get to negotiate which days off I want. Suits me just fine!
Of course you don't... Unless that was a bit of witty sarcasm that I was too tired to catch? Just work your days, and if you want to change your schedule, then swap or proffer.

So what's the difference between working a G Day, because it suits me, and taking a freighter command, because it suits me. I win, someone else loses out.

This is CX, everybody does what's best for them. End of story.

All true BUT if they'd get their selfish heads out of their a** holes they'd see the big picture and understand WHY it's not good for us a GROUP.

Make all the excuses you want.

Agreed, I work with it.

At least I can look myself in the mirror.

Come on ladies - how long have you been with Cathay Pathetic now??

Just swallow the cake - IT WILL NEVER CHANGE - Live with it, acknowledge it - and get over it. IT's reality.

One of the reasons why I, for one, left that dump

Good luck with the AoA and the hole unity thing

The AOA will never "grow some balls" because there isn't a single man amongst us willing to raise his head high enough to be seen and lead. And why would anybody be stupid enough to risk his career for the benefit of those who would not do the same? I'm quite confident we don't have any political idealogists among us; if we did they're certainly in the wrong company in the wrong city in the wrong country.

So can we please cut the crap and be grownups about it? We're contract pilots on the world's best 3-month deal. It can't be renegotiated and it doesn't serve any higher purpose then putting money into the hands of shareholders. As made abundantly clear time and again; if you don't like it. . . there's the door. Nobody cares and your replacement is already sitting at the headland.

There is only one scenaro which would bring the masters to the table. Mass coordinated resignations, forwarded to the AOA for a unified front. They can't deal with 1800 resignations overnight, and as we state our ransom list we better be prepared for sniper fire. Either we all withdraw the resignation, or none.

"Mass coordinated resignations........."

Yep been down that road before in 1989 where we had 98% of the domestic Pilot body resign en masse.....we all know how that worked out don't we

Not to mention the "golf days" the AOA used in when the 49 ers were sacked....we all know how that worked out don't we

Hit em where it hurts, contract compliance is a start, just do your job and nothing more....

Nitpicker

You forgot 1999 and the A scale salary cuts.

If nobody had signed for KB's "offer" would CX really have sacked everyone? If they had, there wouldn't have been an airline coz all captains were A scalers then.
But the mass hysteria led to mass acceptance.

We have mass apathy, nothing else.

Yep I remember that month too.

Half the fleet grounded BY CX in response to our actions.....they were prepared to take a hit short term to get their way.....Air China did a lot of our flights, I paxed on one to MEL after they canned MY rostered flight to MEL supposedly due no crew!! BS, All 3 crew were available to operate the flight as rostered.

CX PR dept were in overtime...

Here's a hint.....we lost that battle....

Now we're in bed even more with Air China.......what do you think CX would do of we all stopped work??? Mmmmm

Nope, there must be other ways to skin the Cat.

Many people have a "life " in HK,
If by 'life' you mean boozing, shopping, and being sick then yes, you're right.

Feel sorry for you if you think that's all there is to do in HKG. With that attitude I doubt whether you would be happier anywhere else.

Thanks, Dr. Phil.

While the rest of us spend the weekends at the beach house in Phuket, commute to the hobbyfarm in Melbourne, enjoy the chalet on Big White, send our kids to boarding school in the UK and plan our early retirement in France I'm glad you've got your new airfilters installed for the long weekend.

I was thinking of taking the kids fishing at the lake this weekend. You know, outdoors so we can light a fire, sleep under the stars and maybe catch a trout or two. But then I woke up and we all took a cab to Elements.

I'm here because they pay me to be here.
