A cat D F/O is a first officer on an aircraft that has a Vref of between 141 and 165 knots. The light twin he's referring to is probably either an A330 or a 777.
Hope this helps

Cat D in Cathay Pathetic used to mean that you had been screwed over, either because you really did f@ck up or likely because some up tight Gods creation to aviation check and trainer captain has written you up for not knowing the correct sequence of the alphabet backwards or perhaps he refused to make the bunk for some w@nker that later on will try and teach you how to use a ball pen correctly.
I agree to sending hin a FB msg trying to explain. Anyways, why would he even consider leaving the worlds most admired airline, who does he think he is?? Must be mental!

He's referring to being a permanent F/O and as such he's ranked as a Cat D. Unsuitable for upgrade to Captain.
By the way, in CX all our Widebody Jets are considered as Cat D for published minima circling etc.

Silver Spur's facebook friend is looking for the 'greener grass'
For recruitment purposes they usually ask for weights or mass.
Cat D does not matter, if it is CX's blacklisting code, approach speed category and certainly not a (sometimes pumped up) circling minima.
