Reserve

Can someone please clarify the rules regarding reserve duty.. ie. is it 30 days in your birth year? What about duties changed to reserve? Any input appreciated, I seem to be spending my life on reserve.

Tks,
KCW

My understanding is 30 days free reserve printed on your "published roster" during your birth year.

Any duties changed to reserve after published roster is printed do not count towards the 30 days.

Happy to stand corrected.

Way too much Res these days

Yes I agree there is way too much Res these days.
I did a master roster search to see who was on Res.
Boy oh boy about 20+ guys in similar periods.

Funny and most of them called out.
Is that due to
1) sickness or 2) Extra sectors 3) Rostering problem

Anyway difficult to plan ones life if you on Res all the time every month.
Annoying..

All reserve should be have credit!

As I understand it too, a flight changed to reserve does not count towards the free 30. But what happens when you are on reserve, given a duty, and before commencing that duty, put back on reserve? A "neat" way for them to roster us as much reserve as they want.

Would love to know how they justify 20 people on reserve for the same period? Sounds like they are just wasting resources (what a surprise!).
