Interesting post airbus to Boeing

I presented myself to the Doc at the EK clinic with severe lower back pain. The first thing he asked is , " What fleet are you on , Airbus or Boeing ?" , when I said Boeing , he said the clinic was aware of it as there are many with a similar complaint. The flight dech seat truly is a torchure device.

It especially significant , given all the ULH on this fleet. ( bare in mind when you go back to the torpedo tube to rest , you cannot stand upright in it either. So you duck walk and shuffle around to get to the bunk. You are unable to sit in the bunk as well. ..... and there are no other areas on board where you can sit comfortably.

The 777 is a great machine , but given the discomfort and deterioration in my health I would go back to the bus tomo.

Have to agree. The seats on the 777 are pretty uncomfortable. Using a cusion usually helps.

cx doesn't pay the extra for the optional good seats.....
You report sick more often than you normally would because of back problems....
You get fired!!!!!

Gotta love "The Cathay Way"!

Does the 777 not have a proper seat in the overhead rest area. I thought it was supposed to have a seat with IFE and then the bunk also?

Nice for you guys if you have the Boeing crew rest ( upper deck behind the flight deck) , that I have seen at an airshow and it has comfy seats to sit in as well as the bunk. At our airline the rest is in the tail ( we call it the torpedo tube , a totally diffferent design)
You cannot stand upright , its a long very confined space to move in ( the Cabin crew use it too). You cannot even sit upright on the bunk. To manouvre around you have to crouch and duck walk .There are no other chairs anywhere ( apart from the flight deck) where we can sit.

Bring on the freighter !!!!!

The 777 the cockpit seats can be a tad firm and the yoke makes resting difficult at times!!

The fwd overhead crew rest is pretty good, the seats recline and have IFE and laptop power plugs. There is lots of storage space. The bunks are quite good although a tad firm and the Aircon noise above the bunk is annoying in what would otherwise be a quiet space.

Overall the crew rest facilities on the ER are good and well liked by the majority.

The 777 does tend to be very dry though, worse than the 400.

**** I didn't think anything could be drier than the 400.

You must really resemble dried fruit at the end of a ULH
