End of Probation interview

Hello guys,

Does anybody know what to expect during the end of probation interview?
Only a relaxed chat about the first year at CX? Or more like a technical quiz?

Thanks,

Happy landings,

Spander.

Relaxed interview, but don't bitch too much. It will probably be done by CP or FCRM so anything you complain about will probably not get changed but it's good to let them know if you are unhappy about DEFO's DECN's etc......
I would expect the attitude to be similar to a fleet forum, mind you it's been a few years since I had mine.

All well and good but just remember what you say WILL be written down and placed somewhere they can check later.

Be tactful.

Its a great opportunity for you to rock up in full suit. Dont forget the white gloves and the pyjamas hanging out of you flightback. Most likely it will be on a G-day because after all it is in your interest to get the opportunity to meet one of The Company leaders in person - if he/she remembers to show up himself on his working day. Also practice your handshake with some of your maaaates down at Stauntons the night before - you want it to be just right Also - if you know the names of and seniority numbers of the top 200 Cathay Captains you will be just fine.
As some of the other folks said - dont be so foullish as to complain or say anything true - you dont have to lie - just dont say anything - if not already used to this "The Cathay Way" then you will get used to it sooner or later. "Never miss an opportunity to shut up!" - well said young man.

Finally dont forget to wrap that shirt all the way around your ass and balls down in your pants - its gotta sit just right (tight!) - just like when you rock up at despatch.

You may wanna consider using the Cathay uniform tie just to show your appreciation and spirit. (just dont forget to unplug the AoA pin first! that may just extend you probation by 12 month).

Finally (again! - so sorry, so sorry!). Dont be sad if you have your probation extended - you wont be the first nor the last fellow to whom it happend/s..

Dont forget to smile - and that includes showing your teeth - so maybe some whitening will be good to consider. After all its all about what it looks like - who cares about the reality..

Y.

just another chance to say something out of line and be fired.

Speaking of extending one's probation. They did just that to a guy who lost his family in the Tsunami. They gave him no break at all!

Cathay Pathetic is real classy!!

Learn to be a kiss-ass if you want to advance in this company.

Treat the interview not as an end-of-probation interview as much as a pre-command interview. That's how CX will treat it.

It may be 15 years before you get up-graded again, but there are not going to be many logged interviews with you on their file.

As Yeager said (although he may not have meant it!)
Its a great opportunity for you to rock up in full suit
Yes, it is: show them you are a potential commander.

Well, I went to one of these interviews and was told that one of the star chamber wanted my probation extended, (I had this interview immediately after arriving from Anchorage and a fourteen hour duty btw). I felt the last dregs of energy drain from me - which was just as well, I had no fight left in me at that point.

The FCP proceeded to tell me how much of a f*^% up my last sim session had been, but then told me I was released from probation. I rather wish he had kept me on probation, I would have only had to give one months notice. As it happens, I gave one days notice - the next day, and mailed in my uniform and manuals.

It is indeed a pre-command interview, I returned to my previous employer - as a Captain, better salary, one tenth the stress, very little long haul. What the f&^% was I thinking going to CX in the first place ????

There is a world other than the one shared with these w@nkers....

I think XCX should really learn to express himself a bit more openly
