March=No G Day MONTH!!!

Ok how about this one. I myself do this all the time but hey...
Tell everyone, union members or not, based or not, D.B or not.
March will officially be no G day month. If at any time in your career there was a time to stand up how about this small effort, not asking for much, just to abide by your contract for one month. Who knows it may actually catch on and we can do a 2nd but lets work at the first one at this stage.
Tell all your mates, NO G DAYS FOR MARCH!!!!!!!!!
That means no Crew Direct when not on duty!!!! NO answering 2747 on an O day!!!!!!!
I say again NO G DAYS FOR MARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One month is all we ask...at this stage. If we can't do this then what hope is there?????
Spread the word!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad it's not this month!!

Fortunately you are not making it this month!

CC just left a message wanting me to operate 882 this afternoon. Upon hearing the message I rushed to my computer to find out if the trip was still available. Unfortunately the vacant SO slot to LA had already been filled by one of my FO colleagues willing to work on a G day.

Maybe next time!

Hope someone remembers how to make the bunk! (3 FOs and 1 Capt.)

I guess we are not short of SOs either!

Should have been closer to my phone, I want a Thank you for working on your G day letter!

There are various people on these forums, including myself, who are now monitoring who these G-day heroes are...

I can ASSURE you that we are keeping a list, and will soon make an example of this f

These individuals know who they are,and besides the silence, stares of disgust,it's a real pity that they or their families will not be getting any future jumpseats either...

...and then there is the NAME AND SHAME notice board coming soon...watch this space Dave...

Hmmm, I for one must confess to working G's to try and solve a situation where CC/rostering have not given me my requests.
However, I have joined the ranks of no G day working now after receiving numerous calls from 2747..., looking at the crew list and seeing how far the problem goes. Unreal! Replace this crew member to fill that slot and now get someone from another flight to fill the new slot etc etc. Gotto to be hurting!

Getting rid of junk calls or faxes!!

The Hong Kong Government has now provided a service for the above for land lines, fax numbers and mobile phones which start with the numbers 2, 3 and 6.
Numbers that start with 9 will be able to use the service in 3 months' time.

Getting rid of your junk faxes will be particularly a great initiative to save paper, both at home and at work,as well as UNWANTED calls from crisis control on G-days and before/after a duty...

To register your number, please call:

1835000 (land line)
1835001 (SMS)
1835002 (fax)

Come on AOA.......... SAY SOMETHING.............!
We shouldnt be posting people's names up here for working on G days because it was in fact the AOA that "negotiated" this as part of the new deal......... So, in fact, they are still sanctioned by the AoA................. Yes, i have been guilty once or twice over the years for doing such, but only to help out myself because CC see it fit to give my requested trips to those who did not request them. .................. but, no more i say.

Sizematters - Would you object if I chose not to work any of my G's in October, or are you advocating a company benevolent month near the end of the year?

Chards......

Yeah that's right

Ever thought I might have refused to work on my G day and I looked to see if they filled the seat.

I guess you stayed home all Sunday to come up with your well thought out witty reply hey!!!!!

No I was actually flying on a rostered flight. I just think it is odd that we don't want people working G days (and I totally agree) so we can improve our quality of life but then spend our spare time stressing about who is operating what flight.

Chards,

When the LEADERSHIP fails to act in any way, shape, or form, then at some point the PEASANTS have to take the responsibility on themselves.....

No G Days

The management have played us well in the past and exposed our weaknesses, they are still doing it. I for one am sick and tired of working for a company that makes $$$$ profits, hands the very same managers, who cry poor to us, huge bonuses and then in the next week turn to us and warn of downturns, LCCs and the sorts. (This is of course not unique to CX)
I would love for nothing else than to see my career out with CX, the fundamentals are there and there is hope, it is by far, not the worst airline to work for. The most frustrating thing about it, is that they just cant leave us alone. The penny pinching has reduced our CoS and the enjoyment factor of this job.
Instead of just bleating about it, i would prefer to do something about it. I am a union member but a very frustrated one at that, i believe with some pressure from the pilot body we can make a change, if and only if the majority do something about it. It really is that simple.
I suggest the no working G day in March thing just as a tester, everyone can participate and it really isnt that hard. It is a way everyone can do something to put a bit of pressure back on the company.
Participate if you want change!!!! (Thanks Obama)
Bend over if you are happy with the constant degrading of your contract!!
