Be at the check-in desk 120 minutes before departure, that's all I found.

Is listing required?
I thought one just turned up for Cathay. Thats what I have been doing as Dragonair staff and so far that has not been a problem. Do any other KA staff list and is there an advantage?
Also Justinzider may I ask if you guys can buy ID90 or low zonal Biz class seats on Cathay through one world interline agreement?
Thanks

I travelled from Oz to HK return on CX last year on a zonal fare, I am not an employee of CX or KA. I rang CX reservations to list and they said they don't accept listings any more, just turn up at the check-in counter at least 2 hours prior to departure time and put your name on the standby list.

CX Staff are required to list a minmum of 4 hrs before the flight via the IntraCx Travel desk site OR turn up 2 hours before and register at the staff travel desk. If you don't list it doesn't mean you wont get on the flight BUT they get no priority according to their DOJ and Ticket type. They would be at the tail end of ALL other staff that listed.
As other Airline staff I imagine you too should list to get your priority.
You could ring the CX benefits centre in HK and ask them. 2747 2222.
Select the staff travel option and wait for them to answer you, it shouldn't take too long.

As mentioned above, we ( KA ) are owned by CX and we still cannot list on CX flights, but at least we have higher
priority than zed fares. I understand that Zed fare travellers are loaded on a 1st come 1st served basis, so there may be merit in turning up at the airport early.
As an aside, travelling HKG-BNE on zed with CX........................Good Luck !!!
Oops, just realised how old original post is, HKG-PEK substantially easier to get onto than HKG- Anywhere in Oz !

turn up 2 hours before and register at the staff travel desk.
ACMSThanx for the info. I am with Air Canada on a Zed fare. The "travel desk" you allude to....? Is it at the airport or at Cathay City or where? Can I just approach any counter at the airport and list myself for the next flight? Is there somewhere to check loads...or can someone else do it for me as a favour? We are traveling 16 March HKG-PEK on a morning flight...around 9:00 AM.
Thanks.

I've never travelled standby on KA so I don't know where they check in.
I suggest you arrive as early as possible at the normal Dragonair checkin area in Terminal 1 isle D and ask the staff what to do.

I've just listed for a dragonair flt by calling the ticket reservations number from the KA website 31933888. I was also told just to go to the KA counter aisle D for check in.
When I've listed with other airlines such as swiss I also just called the reservations number in HK. That seems to work. As for checking availability www.flyzed.com seems pretty accurate. Ask your company for user name and password.

Just a word on flyzed, certainly better than nothing but gives no indication of 1) staff numbers listed 2) oversell.
Although if J is green and Y is red and overall is red, it's a good indication they have oversold Y to the capacity of J, which seems to be happening a lot lately.
