Hello guys and girls,

Does anyone think Oasis will have Cadet Pilot Programme in the future, because other Hong Kong based airlines already have that... (KA and CX)

And also, is Oasis going for the B744 or A340?

Thanks for replying

CPP, i very much doubt it, even all the guys and girls being recruited now are all type rated. So going through a cadet progaram will take maybe upto 18mths before becoming online. i dont think oasis can expand that quickly to justify a CPP.
They using ex UA 744's

An airline has to have minimum of 30 airplanes to be able to run a CPP.

How ever there was an advert for cadets in Flt Intl' a few mths back looking for EU resindets?

Yes,there was. They want all the flt crew to be based and have the right to live and work either in the EU or in the US.

The plan is to start first to London-Gatwick next year and after to Oakland.

There were objections raised by other operators to their route licence application to the Hong Kong licensing authority (ATLA) which required responses and another hearing which is due early November. Possibly original target was overly ambitious as well.

Andy Kumaria is 61 now so he's too old to fly a heavy.

Tax in Hong Kong was 15% shortly to become 16%. Instead of being taxed for your housing allowance they allow you to add 10% to that figure. So 16.5%, presumably going up to 17.6%. You are not entitled to any personal tax allowance so that percentage figure is only good if your salary is high.

Is Oasis still hoping to operate a couple of UA 744s? I have read that UA have got nearly all their 744s back into service.

Their start has been further delayed as a result of a delay getting their AOC. This means that the deal on the ex-UA 744s has lapsed and the aircraft in question have gone to another operator. Oasis are now in search of other 744s, which I imagine won't be too hard to find seeing there are ex-SQ and soon ex- MH specimens around.

As far as I know, no interviews have taken place yet.

50 thousand squids a year for F/Os, Gatwick base. GSS are going to be short of pilots soon - I reckon!
