Post This is not the official CX Pilots Forum.

So please try to remember that most of the postings in FH are from those who would wish to stir trouble.

Far from the truth in my case.

Wanting to stir trouble is pointless and as I have said and repeat again, we all want this settled.

Two points of view:
1) I hope you get a 300% pay increase and a wonderful roster, just get on with the work you have been hired to do.

2) I hope the company fires the lot of you and gets a new fresh group of pilots, just get on with the work you have been hired to do.

You see, either way I really could not care less, as a travelling member of the public who spends countless hours in the plane, hours that would rival the number of hours you guys are in a plane, I am inconvenienced by what is going on and sick of it.

Unfortunately for the ones who are going slow, your compant routes are being covered fairly well and I hope you are prepared to go for a while. I have flown three times on the chartered planes and so far I am pleasantly surprised, I expected worse and was quite satisfied.

Best of luck to you chaps, just get the scedules of old operating again before I get to like Air China too much.

Cool

Diamond member

Your posts on this and other forums reflect what I consider an typically selfish attitude.

You are sick of being inconvenienced and just want an end to it? The Cathay pilots feel the same way about continuous roster disruption and other erosion of terms and conditions. What if it was your employer who was causing you these problems, what would you do? What should the pilots do?

Yeah I know, lay down ,suck it up and get on with it.

As the fatigued crew finally lose the jet and you're rolling upside down, the point of all this may just hit home!

Diamond. All of the charter airlines have an "F" rating for safety. To gain this rating, you must have a fatality rate of greater than 7 instances per 1,000,000 sectors. Since you seem to have so much spare time legging around the globe, you do the math.

....and yet, Cathay keeps on flying....without the troublemakers.
CX guys had better get the PR machine all oiled up soon, otherwise it's bye-bye time.
May well be... too late.

I was trying in my unpolitical way to say that if you don't draw lines in aviation it is no respector of 'Diamond Clubs'.

You're right of course it's not effective

Come on Flanker & jtr - this guy pays your salaries! He probably flies as often as you do! I am gobsmacked that you sound off at customers just because you are having a problem with your employer. Or do you think customers are dispensible too?

"What if it was your employer who was causing you these problems, what would you do? What should the pilots do?" You know what? He'd leave - just like he'll leave CX if keep the attitude up.

Unhappy

Keep making assumptions don't you!
I don't work for Cathay.

Diamond member feels strongly - well so do I, and as far as I'm aware this is an open forum,he must expect robust replies.

I'm sure everyone wants an end to the Cathay problem as soon as possible.

The impression I get is that as long as 'I'm all right Jack' you can do any DAMB thing you want!! What is Gobsmacking is that you are more 'Gobsmacked' by our replies than you are by the cynical sacking of dozens of people.

My apologies Flanker for suggesting you might actually work for CX. Not sure your slagging off our customers is going to help the boys up the sharp end - or perhaps you can help me there?

I strongly object to your sarcastic remark.I am simply a British pilot NOT employed by Cathay who disagrees with someone who posted on this forum.I do not want to stir up anything!!!

This may be a Far East forum but in the UK we can still post freely!Who do you think you are?

411 I was directing my comment at Diamonds closing comments.
"I have flown three times on the chartered planes and so far I am pleasantly surprised, I expected worse and was quite satisfied."

They have a less than desirable safety record.
Your point?

jtr---
China was told several months ago by the FAA to pull up their collective socks regarding saftey practices or be.....Catagory II (and most favored nation status for trade would go bye-bye).
Suspect that they have done so, posthaste. KE is now facing the same "request". They had better listen.

Flanker,

My post was neither sarcastic, nor aimed at you.

I was merely happy to see your honesty with regard to your employer.

But still - you must not put any faith in this forum.

Regards.
