Question CX LHR to NY

Nearly a year ago it was reported in the UK that CX had approval to fly the LHR to NY route BBC news report here

Does anyone know if this is going to start, and if so when?

Cool

We were seeking approval, but there were a couple of objectors, BMI and our oneworld partner from there (because of the VS part) and it had to go to the european bodies! Not sure of the results yet. VS may of advertised it but they didn't actually have the rights to actually do it the last I heard, but that was a couple of months ago.

I'm pretty sure it will go ahead once it gone through the european thing!

Slot

Heard CX would rather use the slot at LHR for another LON-HKG flight. New York would apparently not be profitable as well as the objections.

I am just wondering how much more Qantans will get before we are allowed to hop on their prime markets. SYD-LAX-JFK or SYD-AKL-LAX. China is giving away the store and seems we are last on line. Kinda bums me out a little.
