Well 24L is at Manchester and a certain DC8 did arrive and I would guess at Lyneham
Did the DC8 go to Portugal or Port of Spain as I am sure I read somewhere it was doing

Must be carrying dangerous goods for the Cricket world cup! Joking aside, it would be great to see a DC8 into LGW again...nice smoking trail as well. Hope you lucky sods in MAN enjoyed the sound...

Yes a nice clear day no wind and on departure you used to be able to follow them out on 06 and past Congleton and the see as they continued the climb towards Honiley

Think you'll find it has hush kits, aircraft without were banned from European airspace a long time ago. And this one has been operating through various European points quite happily in recent years.

Agree about the smoke trail. Saw one (maybe the same one) leave Newcastle one clear evening a couple of years ago, could follow it for ages. Very occasionally (about once every couple of months) Pulkovo still substitute a Tu154 at Heathrow for their 737. Same effect.

Yes, sorry you are correct it did have hushkits fitted. You would'nt think so though by the amount of DB's she produced!!

Banzai Eagle please be assured AIA do not fly clapped out a/c.
Also any DGR carried by the airline is packed and stowed according to ICAO & IATA regulations.
Unless of course you no better !.
