Hi Guys and Girls
Hoping to find out what the typical Hourly rate is for an MEP/CPL/IR instructor? How much per hour would you charge as an instructor?

With that combination you'll mostly be working for integrated courses and in those instances, it will be difficult to work out the hourly rate for the ME part. Or are you looking for an hourly rate while instructing for one of those ratings on a free-lance basis?
£50-60 per hour? You can instruct with MEP CRI and IRI but it's not something you can go straight into easily. Most schools require SEP experience first, then it's probably done by seniority.

CPL or IR: 50€ in ATO (student pays twice as much), outside ATO I charge 60€/h. Day rate 300€ plus expenses.

Integrated schools seem to pay about £50Kpa or £300 per day for ME IR.
Modular schools £50-60 per hour. The key with these is making sure you get a ground rate for briefings as the PPL '10 minute brief while you walk' doesn't work out for advanced training. Its odd that students don't mind paying £450 per hour for the aircraft but baulk at £50 per hour for ground instruction. Typically you need an hour briefing plus an hour debrief for each trip. Ideally you want to be with the student for a full day at £300 and they perm as many ground/aircraft hours as necessary from you to achieve the training requirement..... But what do I know...?

Probably because at £30.00 an hour and about 500 hrs a year (if you’re lucky) in the U.K. it’s impossible to make a living at it. Flying schools are feeling the squeeze and can’t really afford to increase the hourly pay or pay retainers or salaries. But I did some part time instructing during the pandemic and worked out that on an hourly basis I was earning more as a salaried instructor with a PPL in the 1980s than I was with an ATPL on an hourly rate in 2021.
