LNAV/VNAV AND APPROACH MODE

When flying an RNAV (GPS/GNSS) Approach with an LNAV/VNAV minimum do you push the approach mode?

If you go by twin angel on APF, I just answered your question there. Yes, arm APPR and VNAV on Collins ProLine systems.

The answer to the question as asked by the OP is what TA said...It is equipment dependant.

FWIW if you are trying to fly an LNAV/VNAV approach to a runway where there is a coincident ILS then (certainly on some types) selecting Approach Mode (APR] will probably lead to the AFDS on your equipment coupling to the ILS and ignoring the LNAV/VNAV profile completely....Certainly on those types if you want to fly an LNAV/VNAV approach you definitely do not select APR.

It depends. 737 and 787 have IAN, which allows one to arm approach for an NPA a in the same manner as an ILS. my previous employer didn’t pay for IAN on the 737 and I haven’t flown the plastic fantastic so I can’t comment as to how easy it is, but the functionality exists in the newer Boeing software packages.
