CBIR.....Seperate approval?
Does the 'Approved' element of the flight training for a CBIR require seperate approval, or can any ATO already approved for the 'full' IR course do it?

I was just reading Standards Doc 7 (as you do) and I am mystified by the differences in test accuracy tolerances between PPL IR and CPL IR Anyone know the philosophy behind that?

As far as I am aware, there is no difference in the test accuracy tolerances required between the CPL/IR and the PPL/IR.
It is the same test, for the same qualification, for the same privileges.
To which section of Doc 7 are you referring?

If certain GA organisations hadn't responded like petulant children to NPA 2014-28, an RF could easily have become a non-complex ATO with far simpler requirements than are currently in place....
So (if they had the appropriate instructors),your local RF could have provided CbM IR training without the cost and hassle of the current approval process.
But now you'll all have to wait to find out whatever the EASA 'Training Outside an ATO' mob dream up......and that's going to take a while.

Any local flying school or club can do the cbir training without any approval. Its only 10 hours that's required in an ATO and has to be CAA approved.
I have several students going down that road (or airway;-) ) at the moment.
