Goal of training

Well, this is the Flying Instructors forum so I wondered what we might all think the answer is to this question:-

What is the underlying goal of all learning/training?

At the lowest level, I think all learning is aimed at creating understanding. Training is aimed at creating learning situations.

Survival and SAFETY.

In the flying context, flying instructors need to achieve both of this goals to create a competent, safe pilot.

Nothing disturbs me more than hearing people complain of how pointless their theory training is. The task of an instructor is to teach the student how to use their knowledge.

The goal of the instructor is to inspire your student to emulate the superior skills that you have demonstrated to him/her.

b) To learn from every "trial"
