PPL A Exams.
The purpose of PPL theoretical knowledge is to ensure that a pilot has enough knowledge to operate an aeroplane safely. Over the years we have moved steadily away from that goal and now the exams are seen as a largely irrelevant hurdle to obtaining a licence. The latest CAA exam questions address the latter rather than the former by seeking to catch the unwary with poor quality questions in the far flung corners of a poorly defined syllabus, whilst failing to check for a safe level of fundamental understanding.
