Standards Document 17 would normally be provided on your examiner course.

Standards Doc 17

slr737, to my knowledge Standards Document 17 has not been published for a while. However, as ifitaintboeing suggested, it is often handed out in hard copy format on the FE course. Interestingly, the new EASA guidance to examiners refers to the document; so, someone hasn't done their homework.

..or if it isn't given to you on the examiners course, the CAA themselves will forward a copy with your examiner approval.

Apparently it was never issued in PDF form from the powers that be.

then i'll have to ask the CAA. I somehow lost it and would find it easier to have it as a PDF as most of my doc now are on iPad.

Are you after this;
Flight Examiners Handbook: Flight Examiners' Handbook (Aeroplanes & Helicopters) 2012 | Publications | About the CAA

I only discovered this because one of our PPL members had a long list of links e-mailed to him.

I think he means:

Standards Document 17 entitled:

"Aide Memoire for the guidance of Authorised Examiners conducting oral examinations for the issue and revalidation of class/type ratings - single pilot aeroplanes"
