JAR CPL at night
Debate on another forum about whether as JAR CPLs are now EASA ones, people without an IR on their JAR CPL should now have a night rating to fly at night? Apparently change of emphasis in the ANO and EASA when considering old PPL and CPL privileges could suggest so. Anyone come across this? The question came about from some chap asking whether he needed one on his CPL to drop down to Class 2 med and use PPL privileges of his CPL for instructing at night.

Forget the ANO its not relevant. An EASA CPL includes night privileges by default. A PPL or LAPL requires a Night rating in accordance with FCL.810 to exercise night privileges.
A CPL includes both PPL and Night privileges so what's the problem exercising a combination of privileges?
