According to this its now 1 year!!!! Hooray we get something for free from the CAA. Who can believe it!!! (Better keep quiet I suppose in case they change their mind)

However our existing class-one certificates have an expiry date six months from the previous certificate. In my case March 2007. So unless unless we get something in writing to extend this, I assume that the 12-month validity will only happen after our next medical??? Or have I missed something?

Please note that these changes will come in December 2006 and medical examinations undertaken before this date will be subject to the current requirements, including validity periods. There will be no retrospective application of the rules.

QNH 1013 Yes it will be 12 months from your next.
Also be careful to align such things as ECG so you do not have to go back 6 months later just for the ECG; Audiograms are two yearly so this can be aligned in a year's time.
