Bell206B3 Pre-Purchase Flight

Does anyone have a checklist that could be used for a Pre-Purchase test flight for a 1982 Bell206B3 Jet Ranger Helicopter. Thank you in advance.

You could always use the UK CAA airtest schedule for the Bell 206.
This used to be a 3 yearly requirement.
Go to http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/397/SRG_FL...2_07082006.pdf

The full list of available check flight certificates is at (and there indeed seems to be two .pdfs in the address):
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/397/CFS_Al...072007.pdf.pdf

Once you have found which document you want, they are not easy to find in the CAA website, but a search on the relevant number in the CAA site search feature may work. For example, the A340-642 check flight certificate is 325, and a search on '325' yielded the right document.

LTE on the 206BIII

I am sorry this is a new thread..but I havent a clue of how to go about making a new one. I believe that the Bells are peculiarly prone to LTE as opposed to the Fenestron bladed Eurocopter/Aerospatiale. Could anyone throw some light on this, apart from the obvious "two bladed symmetrical aerofoil sectioned tail rotor"?

The Bells are not prone to LTE any more thanany other type and some fenestrons have had issues in the past. LTE has become a cloak for poor piloting ie allowing a high rate of turn to develop in the hover before doing anything about it and turning downwind at low level and allowing the speed to fall.

wkrwkr (and others),

You may well find a lot more answers to these questions over on Rotorheads forum: there's a wealth of knowledge there, and I believe that not many of the rotary community would be visiting Flight Testing
