diplomatic clearances
ops planners/strategic and goverment affairs
am interested to know what system or organisation do you use for your scheduled long haul and non scheduled charter flights in regard to overfly and landing approvals-does your organistation prepare its own clearances or use one of the services currently available from vendors
also has your organistation developed any kind of programme to interface with flight ops system for the display and activation of such messages by your control or dispatch
appreciate your feed back,my particulair organisation uses local offices, agents in countries such as india,ASA and plain language
transmission via aftn/e mail or sita
thanks

We generally do most clearances ourselves through AFTN/SITA although some Coutries/States do ask you to use an agent.
Hadid in DAM is our first choice of agent.
Our main flight planning application now has a Permit Tracker showing what permits you need or what you haven't got after computing the flight plan.

acmi48,
If you can get your hands on CAP 555 this gives a lot of information on the requirements for over flight clearance, traffic permits etc... This is availabe in paper format and on CD-ROM it is about £55.
This also gives information on the details to be included in the requests for each country and the method of application.

we are on the mailing list of cap 555 and use it for the non schedule operations and a a guideline, expanding on the subject we are affected by rip off charges by the egyptian caa who charge handling fees for class b traffic on the aftn and all our efforts to circumvent this have failed as athens re transmit to CAI,
jb007 your flt planning system can u expand on that
our principal operations system for crewing and ops control is AIMS and for flight planning we are trying SABRE airpath
appreciate the responses, any of the ops readers have special experiences of russia and the cis in general

Flying worldwide, often at very short notice. We do most of the job ourselves via AFTN or use local agents. UAS in SHJ is really efficient.
acmi48. We have at least 4 to 5 charters to Russia/CIS a week and this part or the world is very easy to get permits. We are well known, so we get the russian permit within 2 or 3 hours but I think it can take much more time for other operators.
