Block rosters, Reserve and FTLs...

For anyone on a long block roster - 20/10, 18/12 etc.. how does the roster appear when published? Do you have published flights and OFF days within the work block or is everything Reserve or a combination? Is it legal to publish a roster which consists of flying and reserve, then giving off days as required closer to the time to meet ERRP requirements? Following EASA/UK rules.

It would be useful for you to link your query to a specific Authority - there's no universal answer
