Catering for return flights

Most short/medium-haul flights carry catering for return leg which is similar to fuel tankering. What is a common threshold (in terms of flight time i.e. more than 6 hours) when catering uplift at destination airport is required due to storage conditions, etc? I understand that the answer may not be straightforward, for simplicity let's assume it's a typical jet acft, with typical galley equipment, meals carried are typical for 'full-fare' airline.

Thanx.

Catering

Not easy but....but my interpretation of what you might be looking for.

Large aircraft:
Flight times 4:30hrs each way with one hour at start and approx one hour transit equalls 11hrs total time with return leg full service catering carried.
Aircraft chillers are a reliability factor to ensure food remains at a given cold temperature.

Overnight aircraft is de-catered due time and heat.
Approx 15-20 minutes to load single sector catering for full meal service prior to departure of 4:30hrs sector.
Cabin crew will then fine tune for special meals or extras that might be required if time available for catering company.
