Train as dispatcher at age 50 ?

Posing the question and seeking realistic answers !
I am looking to change careers and train in Europe or USA as a ICAO flight dispatcher.
I am a bright ! fit and able 50 year old. South African / British passport
I have a CAA PPL (A) with 220 hours TT
I am currently studying JAR CPL distance learning and will achieve a CAA CPL (A) in September after flight training in Spain.
Should I go for the ATPL instead?

I am looking thereafter to train at either

1) Flight Safety USA - or similiar - an expensive 240 hour course - to gain a FAA / ICAO Flight Dispatch Licence
2) UK AVTECH - who provide a ICAO ? dispatch course
3) JAR dispatch course in Europe - I think only Jepperson provide this ??

Does anyone have any experierence in any of the above courses ?
Any other suggestions re structured training / courses for dispatcher?

Most important question! - after successful completion of a course - what are my employment prospects to gain a job in the flight planning dept of any airline preferably overseas.
many thanks all
