Can anyone tell me if the Canadian AME is accepted at face value or is there a process that has to take place. So far my understanding is that all I have to do is work in the EU for 6 months and then write air regs. Can anyone confirm this for me and if you have done this, let me know how it went and how to do it. I currently hold a Transport Canada AME licence,M2.
And what is B1 and B2 stand for? Thanks for the input.

No, you will get no exemptions and your type course wont be reconised either, you will have to do the lot, have a look at the airmech forum for more info.
B1 is engine, airframe and electrical
B2 is avionics
The JAR system is not like the canadian system where a CAT 1 and certify for a CAT 38 job, but under this system a CAT 38 can release the A/C.
