A320 APU FIRE SHUTDOWN

For Airbus A320 Fam Techs and Engineers. The Airbus A320 AMM chp. 49 explains that when the aircraft is on the ground the ECB will automatically extinguish an APU fire, but in flight, the crew is required to follow ECAM instructions and manually fight the fire. The manual also describes the ground mode and flight mode difference as being decided by landing gear extension.

I have also been told that APU fire extinguishing has two modes; attended mode with engine (s) running and unattended mode with no engine operation. Translated - whenever an engine is running and an APU fire occurs. The event must be dealt with manually via ECAM instructions. This logic differs from the AMM ref. above.

I would like to know the reference that explains these two modes if there's one that exists. Thanks for your input.
